Skin Resurfacing

Skin resurfacing includes a number of cosmetic treatments that can be performed to improve the health and appearance of the skin. Most of these treatments work by removing the surface layer of the skin to allow new skin cells and collagen to form in its place. Resurfacing procedures can decrease wrinkles, fade age spots and other discolorations, and tone and tighten for smooth, feminine skin. Many of our patients at the International Center for Transgender Care opt to complement the results of their gender transition surgeries with skin resurfacing procedures.

Laser Hair Removal

Laser treatment for unwanted hair is a non-invasive, FDA approved method for achieving permanent hair reduction on the face and body. With laser hair removal, patients can be virtually hair-free in just a few months’ time. Many of our patients opt to complement the results of their gender transition surgeries with laser hair removal. Because this treatment affects hair follicles during the growing stage, about 6-8 treatments spaced one month apart are required to see full results. Laser hair removal can be performed on any part of the body and there is no downtime. The treatment does create a mild stinging sensation but it is well-tolerated by most patients and leaves the skin soft and smooth.
